51st, 54th Damenville Winchester Street

The 4s Beginning's

30.png
The 147 GlockBoyz gang is a notable street gang that emerged from the DamenVille area of Chicago, specifically around the intersections of Winchester and BackofTheYard, with their territory spanning from the 47th to the 54th street. This gang is composed of three main sets: Loc City situated on the 51st, Damenville BloodGang based on the 54th street, and the Winchester Boyz established on the 57th street. One distinguishing characteristic of the GlockBoyz is their unique usage of the term “BLOOD.” Unlike many gangs in the Chicago region that may adopt other monikers, the 147 gang's connection to the Blood Gang is singular and is particular to the DamenVille area; they refer to themselves in this context as "Blood Brothers," drawing a distinction from the Bloods of Los Angeles. Contrary to common belief, DamenVille has not completely shaken off its historical roots tied to the Gangster Disciples (GD); while some narrative suggests that they dropped their GD affiliation in favor of Blood ties during the 2010-2024 period, this is inaccurate. Historical honor remains at the core of their identity, ensuring that the GD legacy is still recognized and respected in their operations. Historically, GlockBoyz and 147 have previously been known as "PapBlock" or "LocCity," whereas the 54th street crew was labeled "Winchesterboyz." These two factions formed a strategic alliance in 2015 following the tragic murder of a high-profile member named “ILL Will,” who was killed alongside an affiliate from 47th after having taken out two rival gang members as retaliation. In the current climate, the younger GlockBoyz generation actively embraces and celebrates the contributions of those who came before, often paying homage to former Damenville and Winchester sets through their naming conventions. However, the GlockBoyz face significant opposition, particularly from several Stone sets and the Black Disciples (BDs) operating in the BackofTheYard region of Chicago. Their most pronounced conflict is with the 5th Ward, PGF, and Murdafield gangs, a violent feud that has persisted since the early 2000s and has led to numerous lives lost on both sides. A particularly tragic event was the murder of G Pap, a key figure within the gang whose family ties placed him in a critical position. He was lured and executed by three members of 5th Ward, a revenge killing that stemmed from prior gang-related violence, including the homicide of a brother and the shooting of a mother of one of the suspects involved. The ongoing animosity between 147 GlockBoyz and the BPSN gang factions has been equally lethal, compounded by an enduring feud with another GD faction, 5th Ward, igniting in the 2010s. This rivalry intensified as G Pap's murder served as a catalyst for growing hostility, prompting the younger DamenVille members to adopt the GlockBoyz identity in his honor. Consequently, these initial murders ignited a cycle of violence that continues to reverberate in the lives of the gang members, shaping their narratives and heightening tensions in an already volatile environment.

Purp City

Loc City is a designated set of 147 GlockBoyz that has gained notoriety and visibility throughout the year in South Chicago, making a significant impact on the local scene. You can typically find these individuals congregating outside of corner stores, lurking in alleyways, or stationed in front of various buildings within their territory. Their activities are characterized by a variety of criminal behavior, which includes selling narcotics, engaging in scams, and carrying out robberies. Alarmingly, it’s been reported that before reaching the mid-point of the year, the crime rate within Chicago has experienced a staggering threefold increase, correlating directly with the actions of the "Loc City" affiliates. Since the onset of this year alone, there have been over 25 robbery incidents linked to these gang members, highlighting their growing influence and the public safety concerns that accompany it. In response to this alarming surge in criminal activity, the Chicago Police Department (CPD) has ramped up their efforts to monitor the area more closely by installing additional surveillance cameras along 51st Dameville Street. While the young teens involved seem to receive some guidance from their older counterparts, one must question whether they possess the intelligence and critical thinking skills necessary to learn from the mistakes and missteps made by their older “big homies.” The gang primarily comprises teenagers aged 15 and older, all of whom are fiercely determined and ready to take on any challenges that come their way. This group is known for their insatiable desire for money and recognition, leading them to identify as EBK, or "Everybody Killa." Loc City has made its mark, but it’s clear that the newer generation of members has taken charge, with two main subsets emerging from the ranks: the Button Boys, one of whom is notably represented by Reeko, who remains incarcerated, and the MooMoo Gang, predominantly featuring Bibby, who was recently released after serving time alongside Reeko. Despite their individual distinctions, both subsets ultimately fall under the broader "Loc City" umbrella, exhibiting a renegade spirit that has come to define their operations within the community. Alongside these issues, the rise of social media has significantly impacted gang violence dynamics. Social media platforms now offer gang members a swift and convenient means of communication, allowing them to engage in private messaging, create group chats, and disseminate public posts that coordinate activities, plan events, and share intelligence regarding rival gangs. This rapid form of communication can rapidly escalate conflicts and contribute to the organization of violent confrontations. Moreover, individuals frequently utilize social media to signify their gang affiliations. This expression can manifest through the posting of specific symbols, colors, hand signs, or any other identifiable markers linked to a particular gang. Such digital representations not only serve to publicly display loyalty but can also trigger rivalries and conflicts with opposing gangs. Additionally, social media serves as a public forum where individuals can voice threats, intimidate rivals, and issue challenges. By using platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to taunt or provoke members of rival gangs, tensions can surge, leading to potential violence spilling over into the real world, thereby perpetuating the cycle of gang-related crime.

Sitchy Boyz

SitchyGang - In the vibrant city of Chicago, a tight-knit group of mischievous kids known as SitchyGang roamed the streets, embodying the spirit of their tough surroundings. Comprised of loyal and steadfast friends who had spent nearly all their childhood together in the same economically challenged neighborhood, they faced harsh realities such as poverty and limited opportunities each and every day. At the helm of this audacious crew was their charismatic leader, Jackson "Tim" Timothy, whose magnetic personality drew his friends deeper into a world filled with fast cars, petty scams, and the ever-present threat of violence. Growing up in a community where luxury vehicles gleamed brightly as symbols of status and success, the allure of the gang lifestyle became irresistible to them. Chicago, with its rich and tumultuous history regarding crime and violence, features neighborhoods where gang activity is woven into the fabric of everyday life, influenced by cyclical patterns of socio-economic challenges, drug trafficking, and fierce territorial disputes. The intricate tapestry of Chicago's gang culture tells a story deeply rooted in the historical complexities of racial tensions and organized crime influences, perpetrating cycles of violence that erode the very heart of its communities. This document aims to illuminate the dangerous evolution of Chicago's gang scene, tracing significant historical periods while analyzing the myriad factors that have contributed to its grim realities. Over the years, the gang landscape has morphed into a perilous atmosphere characterized by rampant violence, with incidents like drive-by shootings and fierce turf wars becoming a tragic norm. Such violent occurrences bred retaliatory crime, instilling a pervasive sense of danger and trepidation within the local populace. The historically fluctuating rates of violent crime across Chicago's neighborhoods reveal stark disparities, highlighting the social and economic hurdles many residents face. Factors such as poverty, the illegal drug trade, and ongoing conflicts among rival gangs created a breeding ground for chaos. The evolution of the gang culture within the city paints a complex picture, where the roots of violence and crime intertwine with broader societal issues that call for urgent attention and reform. Over the decades, as tensions flared and lines were drawn in the streets, the SitchyGang's journey became intertwined with this turbulent narrative, reflecting the struggles of a generation caught between aspiration and adversity, where the promise of belonging and the siren call of power often led youth down treacherous paths paved with risk and uncertainty.

“Chicago Gun Laws”

Under a law passed on January 10, 2023, Illinois has defined certain firearms as assault weapons. It is illegal to manufacture, deliver, sell, or purchase an assault weapon. Any assault weapons that are already owned by residents are legal to possess if registered with the state police by January 1, 2024. In Illinois assault weapons include any centerfire semi-automatic rifle with a detachable magazine and one or more of these features: a pistol grip, a thumbhole stock, a folding or telescoping stock, a forward grip, a flash suppressor, a barrel shroud, or a grenade launcher. A number of other rifles, shotguns, and pistols are also defined as assault weapons, including some specific makes and models. Not defined as assault weapons but similarly restricted are. 50 caliber rifles.

The law banning the sale of assault weapons has been the subject of a number of challenges in state and federal courts. At the state level, on January 20, 2023, a circuit court issued a temporary restraining order against the law, which was upheld on appeal; in the following weeks, several other circuit courts issued similar orders. On May 16, the Illinois Supreme Court heard a consolidated case challenging the law. On August 11, 2023, in a 4–3 decision, the Illinois Supreme Court ruled that the assault weapons ban does not violate the state constitution. At the federal level, on February 17, 2023, a federal judge denied a motion to block the law, calling it "constitutionally sound". On April 25, a second federal judge declined to block the law. On April 28, a third judge blocked the law statewide, but on May 4 the block was put on hold by an appellate judge. On May 17, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to issue a temporary injunction against the ban on sales of assault weapons. On June 29, a three-judge panel of the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard a consolidated case challenging the law.[68] On November 3, 2023, the appeals court ruled that the law does not violate the Second Amendment. On December 14, 2023, and on July 2, 2024, the U.S. Supreme court again refused to block the law. Additional challenges are in progress in state and federal courts.
